Sulwhasso. Chinese New Year

Product-launch Social

Sulwhasoo, a luxury skin care brand based in Korea, released a special edition of one of their facial serums that was centred around the Lunar New Year. To celebrate and announce it, they wanted to make a video campaign that they could play in their stores and release online, focusing on the Zodiac animal of 2020: the Rat.

To reflect such a premium brand there was no other option than to make our new little friend in a frame by frame style, and to make it even more complicated for ourselves of course we threw in some 3d, all to create something extra special for our friends over at Sulwhasoo.

Footlocker

Campaign Social

In collaboration with Analog Folk, we created a series of movies to encourage people to wear more art and find their own voice through creativity.

Credits
  • Design: Kingdom of Something

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

  • Featured Artists: RED, Jade Chanel

AnalogFolk brought us together with two wonderful creatives, the street artist RED, and the tattoo artist Jade Chanel, who provided the campaign with beautiful artwork and a series of sneaker illustrations. Our in house team brought to life the street elements and the tattoo designs through animation.

The Footlocker Spring Campaign “Wear More Art” release was divided into two phases, each one of them launching a brand new Footlocker collection of sneakers and apparel for men, women and kids.

The first phase focused on showing the sick new Footlocker collection through a street art perspective while the second one was focusing on the tattooing art.

We created a series of different movies and sizes of them so that they can fit on a number of different social media platforms but also for the in-store screens of the physical retail locations.

The Result:

A unique series of sneakers products, showcased in high paced edits, combining real shot footage and animated illustrations creating a strong visual language to convey the spirit of fashion.

Panda Timeline

3d brand-building

As one of the biggest fully family-owned and run restaurant groups in the world. Panda express is incredibly proud of its origin story and the extraordinary effect it has had on both themself and the communities they serve. We had the privilege to help them tell this story through a whimsical winding timeline filled with whimsical representations of key milestones along the way.

    Kindom of Something

  • Music: Daruma Audio

It was essential to dig deep and understand every milestone’s meaning in order to tell the story and get the designs right. Everything from old sign fonts from the first restaurant to the right ingredients in the wok.

It’s all key when you need to convey a key part of a story in less than 2 seconds as the camera passes by.

Making food look tasty while implemented in a 3D or 2D design can be tricky. But a challange we gladly took on.

Optiver

brand-building Onboarding

Optiver is a trading company with offices all around the world. Praised by employees for being different than other trading companies, they wanted to showcase their differences and show new recruits their unique culture via video.

Credits
  • Design: Louis Wesolowsky

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

  • Sound: Daruma Audio

The Goal

Together with Optiver, we figured out what was actually unique about their company by conducting interviews with Optiverians on various levels in the company.

In a tight, cooperative process with Optiver, we took the learnings from the interviews and defined 5 core values that resonated with the internal culture. These core values were then translated into 5 different scenarios that would demonstrate the values in action.

The film is being used as part of Optiver’s onboarding process, helping new recruits navigate and adapt to their culture.

KFC. Veggie Week

Promotion Social

To promote their new plant-based options, KFC wanted to create some promotional material in veggie green, which a few of our vegan animators were very happy to make. These were then used to announce their vegetarian pop-up store, in Rotterdam.

University of Panda

brand-building

After reinventing and elevating its internal educational platform - The university of Panda, Panda Express asked us to help them create an informative, yet inspiring video to get everyone from kitchen staff to board members excited and engaged in what they call “Whole Person Learning”.

The Challange

With as little as 2 weeks to nail the script and create a full 90+ sec video with 17 characters and one single long camera movement, you may find yourself questioning your life choices.

But when it comes to making the absolute best content possible within any parameter, our clan of knights know how to tackle it like a well-synchronized machine, fueled by fear of mediocracy and team spirit.

Solution

A great script was key to finding the balance between informative and inspirational. This was then obviously followed by the challenge of design.

Though the entire video is one long shot, the journey was divided into various segments of all shapes, sizes and angles, to ensure an engaging visual story. This also allowed the team to divide the design so multiple people could work on the same scene at once.

F45

brand-building Onboarding

Wanting to make their franchise onboarding process a bit more entertaining, F45 approached us to create four explainer videos from script to final product.

  • Design: Kingdom of Something

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

  • Music: Daruma Audio

From creating characters and exercises that represent the full spectrum of what F45 provides, we created bespoke animations that fit the F45 world.

A fun, challenging project that let us explore and create this amazing fitness world, we were able to create four pieces that not only made the client happy and excited for a bigger collection of assets for their library.

Adidas. Samba

Campaign Product-launch Social

Adidas needed some cool visuals to display their line of Samba shoes on their website. All of them looked different from each other, and they wanted animations to match. We played with different colors, textures, and patterns to achieve the look they wanted for each shoe.

Credits
  • Design: Adidas,
    Kingdom of Something

  • Animation: Marcus Gestré,
    Kingdom of Something

Asked by Adidas to bring some goofy and creepy fun into the projects, we ask our animators Johanna Oswald and Marcus Gestre to let their imaginations go wild. The result was so great, we kept more than what was requested. Happy client, happy team.

From sketch to final animation, we explored many styles and had fun with this frame by frame animation.

Adidas. Confirmed

UI/Web

When Adidas came out with their exclusive membership app, we were faced with one of our biggest challenges yet: design an animation for the iconic Adidas logo. It would be the first thing a customer sees when they opened the app.

Credits
  • Design: Adidas

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

The Goal

The Adidas logo is one of the most iconic and recognizable logos in recent memory. The goal was to animate it in a way that felt like the classic Adidas brand, while still feeling fresh and interesting. We tried out a few different versions, before settling on the final simple yet elegant one.

Adidas. All Blacks

3d Product-launch Social

When you get asked to do a promo for a jersey that made its first appearance in 1893, you drop what you are doing and get to work! With very little time we joined the already planned photoshoot to make sure we got what we needed for our 3d team.

Credits
  • Design: Adidas

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

During the shoot, we made sure to get proper images of the textures of the jersey in order for us to use that to recreate the fabric in 3d.

With anti-grip technology, second-skin integration, engineered zonal stability zones, and two-way stretch carbon weave it was all about the textures and highlighting certain areas while still trying to look as cool as the rugby players themself when doing the ceremonial Haka dance.

If we would not have gotten the texture images at the photoshoot of the jersey it would have been significantly harder to try a re-create the texture from scratch in 3d and with the short time frame, maybe it would not b possible to deliver in time.

In short, we love the problem-solving aspect of these kinds of productions and that is why we want to have this project on our website.

Datscha

brand-building

Datscha, a commercial property software company, approached us with an idea of a “spreadsheet warrior”, meaning someone that would fight against the old ways of working. We loved the idea so much that we decided to build a whole world around it. With strong influences from action cartoons we made this engaging piece in collaboration with fellow cartoon lovers.

Credits
  • Design: Sun Creature,
    Kingdom of Something

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

  • Voice over: Monte Reid

Datscha wanted to promote their new platform. They don’t use spreadsheets, compared to many of their competitors, so they wanted to emphasize the user-friendliness of their website versus the frustration of slogging through endless rows and columns of data.

Through our brainstorms with the client and their technicians, we came up with an idea where Datscha is a superpower that can help you defeat the dark powers of traditional ways of working.

Drawing inspiration from children’s cartoons and superheroes, we managed to uncover a story of epic proportions.

Datcha now stands apart from its competitors as more of a top-level real estate platform with the power of an engaging story that reflects their fresh look in the professional landscape.

Tökr

Product-launch

More people than ever before are interested in cannabis products. Legalization in many US states has lead to droves of products flooding the market. Tökr provides a platform where you can find the exact product for the right occasion. They needed a video that showed that.

Credits
  • Design: Juan Behrens

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

  • Music: Daruma Audio

Based on the design on Tökr’s website and app we developed a style that would feel as accessible as it felt fun and mature. The video was displayed in dispensaries around Los Angeles.

Adidas. Gaming

Product-launch

Adidas dropped a slick new collection of shoes based on retro video games, but they needed help creating content for their website and socials. We swooped in for the task.

Credits
  • Design: Laura Calvo,
    Kingdom of Something

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

The Goal

For their gaming collection, Adidas had 5 different shoes that needed promoting. Each shoe needed to have a space designed where it would be displayed, as well as showing off the collection as a whole.

Everything needed to feel retro and tech, but also still feel cool. It should feel nostalgic, but not dated. We worked hard to find the sweet spot that exactly matched what we wanted.

OEM Future Sales Experience

Marketing

A digital consulting company that we know very well had a vision in mind of a future where buying and owning a car was as easy as talking to a digital assistant. We worked closely with them to craft a story that would help people better understand that vision, and the possibilities it could bring.

Credits
  • Design: Eva Geruzel

  • Animation: Kingdom of something,
    Marcus Gestré,
    Daniel Isedal

  • Music: Daruma Audio

The Goal

This project was unique, because we were making an ad for a product that hadn’t even been created yet.

We had to get the concept of it across to stakeholders and future buyers without knowing what it would actually look or act like in the end.

We also wanted to push ourselves visually. How could we tell a consistent story that took place over a few months, and still have it make sense in under a few minutes?

The Goal

In a 2-minute long video, we created an atmosphere that acted as the main hero together with never-ending magic hours where the sun slips through the tree branches and calm neighbourhoods you would not mind living in yourself.

Adidas. CCW May

Product-launch

Adidas reached out and needed a helping hand to make their already very neatly designs come alive. We are not sure if it was all the in and out, left or right, up and down that got our heads to spin or if it was all the rows in the spreadsheets. Either way, there was no time to lose and we had a blast!

Credits
  • Design: Adidas

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

It was the second edition of the creators club week for us and it was equally as crazy for both projects, but it’s something very satisfying delivering this amount of assets, once it’s done it makes that Friday beer taste a little bit better.

DCSA

brand-building

Who would have thought that even containers need an association? DCSA's mission is to make a change in a very complex industry by making shipping companies come together and collaborate. That is why we were asked to make visualise the problem and show the world that DCSA is a leading star out on the oceans.

Credits
  • Design: Kingdom of Something

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

Albert Einstein said, “If you can’t explain it to a six-year-old, you don’t understand it yourself.” So when visualizing something as complex as the whole shipping industry it’s usually a good idea to go back to basics to move the narrative forward. Armed with DCSA’s new branding we got to work on explaining who they are as an organisation.

KFC. Covid TVC

Social TVC

KFC approached us with a problem that the majority of the world were dealing with during the pandemic: how to continue business in the time of the Coronavirus. They asked us to create a TV spot showing how something as simple as a good meal could bring people together, even when they were physically apart.

Credits
  • Design: Emilie Muszczak

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

  • Music: Daruma Audio

The Goal

KFC wanted to highlight the fact that their food could be delivered safely and hygienically, even with social distancing measures in place. The biggest challenge, however, was that we were given only 2 weeks from start to finish. We kicked it into high gear and came up with a solution.

Working quickly, we built a story around a delivery in progress, and that through the power of The Internet, people could come together via video call and enjoy a meal together, even in these tough times.

The Result

The commercial was shown across the Netherlands on various TV channels, as well as cut down versions being posted on KFC’s social media channels.

Cities Skylines

Product-launch

The popular strategy game Cities Skylines added two new extension packs to their game, and asked us to design the cover animation for each one. We teamed up with the company Paradox to create these titles.

Credits
  • Design: Paradox

  • Animation: Markus Gestré,
    Kingdom of Something

  • Music: Daruma Audio

Given only a quite complex photoshop file we approached the task by re building the scene in 3d to be able to project the images into an actual space all to get that reallistic prespective you want when panning a camera backwards in a scene.

Visit Abu Dhabi

Product-launch UI/Web

Our friends over at Publicis Sapient reached out to the Kingdom asking if we were up for making a high paced video for the launch of a new platform for a big city in the middle east. How could we say no?

Credits
  • Design: Kingdom of Something

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

  • Music: Daruma Audio

The Goal

Sapient needed a hype video for the launch of the Visit Abu Dhabi platform. Of course, they were in good hands.

Armed with a carefully picked colour scheme and a library of UI assets created for the platform we got to work. For this project, we worked closely with the team over at Sapient to realise the vision they had. It was important that the video used the same elements on the platform itself to make it all feel cohesive.

Delivery

A packed hype video that hopefully made you want to visit Abu Dhabi a little bit more than before you visited this page.

ASUS

Campaign

Asus, through the production company Heaven Media, came to us with the brief of a lifetime: create four individual videos each based on a theme, where we would have almost complete creative freedom to make what we wanted. All they ask is that we work with a famous and talented musician of their choice. How could we say no?

Credits
  • Design: Kingdom of Something

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

  • Music: Herman Li

We opted for a retro video game theme for the entire series based on pixel art. The films had a running story line that evolved as we worked, centering around three main characters.

We hid as many easter eggs as we could throughout the series for especially eagle-eyed followers of the sweepstakes.

Behind the scenes interviews

The Result

The four videos were streamed as ads on Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube, and drove major engagement with fans through the voting mechanic of the contest. On Youtube alone they were viewed over one million times. A mini-documentary following the making of the videos was also created.

Sulwhasso. Spring Campaign.

Product-launch Social

To celebrate the beauty of springtime cherry blossoms, Sulwhasoo released a limited edition line of their products printed with a detailed, embroidered design. Our task was to bring that embroidery to life, in a few different animations for their website and social media.

The only way to portray embroidery in animation would be to make it frame by frame, what took the longest is still a bit unsure. Probably drawing every single frame for every single flower.

Adidas. Rental Pilot

Product-launch Social

Sometimes it’s not about any flashy products or trying to sell as many of them as possible. This one was solely about selling the idea of a concept of how easy it would be to rent your gear for that hike you planned next semester.

Credits
  • Design: Adidas

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

It’s in all our interest when a big company like Adidas wants to push for less consumption. That is why we, even with a simple project like this, put our heart and soul into it so we make sure it gets the best possible condition to succeed.

DB Schenker. Connect 4.0

Product-launch

Our friends over at DEPT came to us with a mission: “Develop the illustrative branding for the logistics giant DB Schenker's new shipping platform, Connect 4.0.”

Credits
  • Design: Kingdom of Something

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

  • Music: Daruma Audio

The Goal

When developing an overall concept for the video, we wanted to stay away from going into detail about features and technicalities that would bore the audience and not spark the right emotions.

Instead, our main objective was to convey how easy and efficient the new Connect 4.0 platform is. After all, the slogan is “Click, Ship, Done.”

The Result

We created one video together with multiple key visuals for both the website and various social media channels, all with an undivided focus on communicating simplicity.

The film was carefully crafted to attract and sustain the viewer’s attention from the very first second until the the last.

SHCC. Lucid

UI/Web

When Superhero Cheesecake asked us for a helping hand on making some slick UI-animation for the up and coming car brand Lucid Motors you simply find the time for it.

Credits
  • Design: Superhero Cheesecake, Lucid

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

The project was a dream just like the imagery on the website many thanks to the amazing team over at SHCC.

When making a website for such a luxurious car brand it’s essential to get the details of how it feels. That is why we were asked to help the developers out by setting the feeling in the animation so they could mimic it in code.

Digital Design Days

Promotion Social

When friends call and need a helping hand what else can you do? Filippo needed a helping hand with finishing up all the hundreds (?) of assets before the launch of the event, of course, we helped them out. How could we not when one of our knights was offered the stage.

Credits
  • Design: Nerdo Studio

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

For the launch of the event, we did trailers, speaker cards, attendees’ videos, inspiration videos, brand videos, countdown videos and probably something more.

If it’s ok to pat yourself on the back, this would be one of those projects where we are proud of ourselves. Even though we had a very short time frame to make this everything got delivered on time.

Adidas. Face Covering

Social Web

For the launch of their new ergonomic, sports-oriented face masks, Adidas asked us to create a collection of animations showing the masks being used in different settings.

Credits
  • Design: Sara Andreasson

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

Adidas brought us together with the beautifully skilled illustrator Sara Andreasson to create a series of looping animations, each one showing the masks being used for different types of sports.

Each animation had to fit a series of different markets and be sized accordingly for use on different social media platforms.

When creating the layouts, we took into account every size we would need, in order to work efficiently and create multiple deliverables that would work for wherever the animation was being shown.

Mastercard.

Campaign

We were approached by DigitasLBi with an exciting brief for Mastercard; make a fun, engaging video for social media with high shareability. Together with the creative team at DigitasLBi we expanded on MasterCard's famous “Priceless” tagline.

Credits
  • Design: Fireart Studio,
    Kingdom of Something

  • Animation: Kingdom of Something

With Mastercard’s “Priceless” tagline in mind, we decided to create a video that would be fun, shareable and engaging by serving up some interesting statistics about the average person and pairing them with fun scenarios.

The video was Mastercard’s most popular video in 2017 with 2.2 million views, 20k reactions and 2181 shares on Facebook alone.

Discord. Imagine a place…

brand-building Campaign

Together with our friends at our friends over at Animagic, we were asked to bring Discord user comments to life with the help of a couple of Internet celebrities. What resulted was a crazy multi-textured world filled with a mix of 2D and 3D characters.

Rabobank

Using what was filmed we got to work on how to reach these kiiiidz. This is a great project to show because it really shows how well different mediums can work together. It’s also in a project like this when you can create so many assets for different platforms the real value is made.
